Harrogate Road – Issues specific to this course
Alpe d’All Adelaide Series
This event is part of the Alpe d’All Adelaide Series.
Check the procedure for this series in the Procedure manual <EVENTS><Events: special events> for things that need to be addressed.
In particular, note the instructions for grading and the grades that are to be used.
The course
The course is an out-and-back along Harrogate Rd with a finish up Mail Rd
This means that riders will be on both sides of the road and may see some traffic issues with cars looking to pass riders when riders are also coming in the opposite direction.
Riders will also only cross the finish line once at the end of the race.
Riders will need to count their own laps of Harrogate Rd
The finish point is the only time it will be known if a rider’s transponder is registering. It’s important to manually check rider numbers and finishing order as they cross the finish.
Local café
There is no local café close to the course
Start Marshal
A Start Marshal is not required for this course. The starter sets riders off when clear to do so.
Finish Marshals
Finish Marshals have been allowed for on the course signage map.
These only apply if the Committee elects to stop traffic at the finish line. Unless the Committee advised otherwise, always assume that traffic will not be stopped and finish marshals will not be needed.
