GET TO THE START LINE 5 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR START TIME TO AVOID AN UNEXPECTED HANDICAP!!
SAFETY AND GETTING TO THE START ON TIME
Rider safety is a top priority for the club. One of the things we must do is provide a Referee Briefing to all riders prior to a race starting. Without this, the club is placing itself in an untenable position on safety requirements.
To make it work, riders need to be at the start line at least 5 minutes prior to their set start time. This gives time to do the roll-call so we know who is out on the track, plus time for the Referee to provide a full briefing.
If you are not at the start line 5 minutes prior to start time, we still want you to be able to race but you will need to wait until the others (who were there on time) have got away. As soon as they are off, the Referee will provide the required briefing to any late comers and as soon as that is done, you will be on your way…with some catching up to do.
The best plan – be at the start line at least 5 minutes prior to your take-off time and all will be sweet.
